Bangkok weather by month

Bangkok is hot and humid all year. Rather than four seasons it has three: a cool, dry season, a hot season and a rainy season. Typical conditions look like this:

MonthsSeasonWhat it is like for training
November–FebruaryCool and dryLowest humidity and little rain. Days are still warm, around 30–32°C, and mornings feel fresher. The easiest time for a first camp.
March–MayHotThe hottest months, with April usually the peak at around 35°C. You sweat a lot and need extra water and rest.
June–OctoberRainyWarm and very humid. Rain often comes as a heavy storm in the afternoon or evening, then clears. September and October are usually the wettest.

These are typical patterns, not a forecast. Some years the rain starts early or the cool season is short, so check the forecast in the week before you fly.

Which month is best?

  • Your first camp, or you struggle with heat: November to February. Your body adjusts faster when the air is drier.
  • You want to get used to hard conditions: March to May. Training in the hot season is tough, which is why some fighters choose it.
  • You want a quieter, flexible trip: June to October. Rain rarely stops a full day of training.

The best month is usually the one when you can stay longest. Most of our international guests stay about a month, and a full month teaches you more than a perfectly timed week. See what a month at camp looks like.

How the heat changes training

At N&P, Stay & Train sessions run Monday–Saturday at about 06:00–09:00 and 15:00–18:00 (Bangkok time). Both sit outside the hottest part of the day, and the midday break is for eating, sleeping and recovering in your air-conditioned room.

  • Drink before you are thirsty and add electrolytes on hot days. You can lose a lot of water in one session.
  • Go lighter in the first days. Most people need about a week to adjust to training twice a day in the heat, whatever the month.
  • Sleep counts. Two sessions a day only work if you rest between them. Sunday is a rest day with no training.
  • Tell your trainer if you feel dizzy or sick. Stopping for a few minutes is normal.

What to pack for each season

Pack for heat in every month. Light, quick-drying training clothes are the most important thing, and you will want more sets than you expect because clothes dry slowly in the humidity. In the rainy season add a light rain jacket or a small umbrella and sandals you do not mind getting wet. In the cool season a light long-sleeved top is enough for early mornings.

Gloves and hand wraps are free to borrow at the gym. The full packing list covers the rest.

Same price in every season

Some camps raise prices in the high season. At N&P the Stay & Train price is the same all year: 7,000 THB for one week or 25,000 THB for 30 days, about 830 THB a day, including a private air-conditioned room with Wi-Fi, breakfast and dinner every day, and two training sessions a day Monday–Saturday. Stays of 6 months or longer get 10% off.

Rooms are limited, so confirm your dates with staff before you book flights, especially for December and January. A 50% deposit reserves your room and the balance is due before check-in. See what the price includes.
